Jessamy Gaetanos '21 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'4" point guard/shooting guard in the class of 2021 at St. Joseph Academy in St. Augustine, Florida.  I have had a desire to compete at the collegiate level from a young age.  I believe my biggest asset to any team is my ball handling skills, my leadership, my ability to score under pressure and my ability to find openings and opportunities for not only myself, but also my teammates.  I played AAU basketball for three years with Beaches Basketball Academy, and my freshman year I joined a new team, Beach City Wildcats. 

I'm a two-year varsity starter at St. Joseph Academy.  As a freshman, I played a mixture of shooting guard and point guard, averaging 10.5 points per game and was named North Florida Conference Player of the Week twice in the 2017-2018 season, as well as St. Johns County All County Honorable Mention.   My sophomore year I was honored to be named team captain, and while playing point guard, I averaged 15.5 points per game, 4.1 assists per game, and 4.2 steals per game.  I was named to the North Florida Conference All Tournament Team and was also awarded North Florida Conference Player of the Week twice during the 2018-2019 season.  In the off-season I work hard with a personal trainer 3-4 days a week and also train with a shooting coach.

In college I would like to study Exercise Science to pursue a career as either a personal trainer or a strength and conditioning coach.  I am looking to compete at a competitive school with strong academics well-suited for my intended major.  I am open to schools at any level and any geographic area.

Off the court I maintain an a high GPA, currently 4.43. I am a member of National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, ASL Club, Anchor Club, Prayer Club, and Recycle Club.  I am also an active member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church where I serve as a junior Sunday School teacher.  I also enjoy volunteering in and around our community to help those less fortunate.
