Natalie Mercadante '22 Recruiting Profile

I am the Captain of the Cardinal Mooney Cougars basketball team. I am the starting point point guard and have been for my three years on the team. This year we were state runner ups in our division.As a freshman, I was instrumental in our team changing their previous record of 2-18 to an outstanding 14-3.  I have endurance to keep my fast pace up throughout the game.  I attribute this endurance to my cross country training of which I am a varsity member of that team as well.   I have been playing basketball since first grade and my passion for the game has increased each year.  I also have been playing in AAU leagues for the past 5 years, where we’ve won numerous tournaments.  My speed and endurance has allowed me to compete and succeed despite my 5’3 size . My defense is aggressive,  I lead my team in steals and deflections for past two seasons. My vertical jump was measured at 24. I love the competitiveness of the game of basketball and have a strong desire to continuing playing at the college level. As much training ,both personal and group , that I have received, I look forward to enhancing my skills.
