Personal Statement
My name is Maiyah Hall and I am a SG/SF at Tampa Preparatory School in Tampa, Florida. I also play on the Ultimate Warriors High School Girls AAU Team. I pride myself on my defensive ability and, during my sophomore year, my goal was to become a better ball-handler and off-ball defender. I believe that I was successful in both of these areas, but primarily in terms of off-ball defense. As a result, I am first in the state in taking charges and third in the country averaging 1.5 per game. I also do my absolute best to maintain a positive attitude both on and off the court. This was most prevalent when I began my freshman season on varsity without playing the first two games. However, I did not let that dampen my mood. Instead, I used it as motivation to work harder which allowed me to earn more playing time and start the last 5 games of the season. Not only do I try my best to excel on the court, but I also strive to be an amazing student. I never settle, and I am constantly trying to be a better player as well as a better person which can be seen in the way I play. I take pride in my ability to deal with people on a personal level and form strong bonds with individuals, especially my teammates. I would really love to be able to use all of my hard work to play basketball in college while obtaining a degree.
