My name is Brianna Nica’le “Breezy” Hinton and I am a 5’5” 125 pound Point Guard at Wheeler County Middle/High School. I will graduate in May 2018. My grades have always been important to me and have been stressed by my mother in order to get into a good college I need to maintain good GPA. My mom is a retired Navy Veteran. The game of basketball is also very important to me. I love basketball and I look forward to playing each season. My main focus each season is to be better than I was last season. I always watch my recorded games and look for areas I need to improve. I developed this passion for basketball when I was seven years old. I watched the movie Love and Basketball and decided at that moment that I wanted to play the game. I literally cried to my mom after the movie to purchase me a ball. My mom purchased a basketball for me and the basketball has been in my hand ever since. I self taught myself by watching YouTube videos. I love a challenge and I love challenging myself. I led my team to the Final Four playoffs. Even though we fell short, it was a great experience and I look forward to this season with my team, because our goal is to become STATE CHAMPIONS! This will be my third season starting at Point Guard on the varsity team. I was named MVP of my Recreation Department Team (Co-ed) 2010, All Conference 2012, All Conference 2013, Best Offensive Player in 2015, All Region Second Team 2015, All Team Tournament 2016, All Region First Team 2016, and MVP 2016. My grade point average is 3.0 and I am working really hard to bring that up a little higher. My plans are to attend a college and major in Physical Therapy with a minor in Sports Medicine. I enjoy helping others and feel this would be a way to do that and remain around athletics. I will be taking the SAT/ACT in the spring 2017. I am looking forward to visiting some colleges this summer and finding the right school for me.
Update: My team won our Region Championship game. Our record is 24-3 and we are headed to the Elite 8. I scored my 1,000 point in our Sweet Sixteen game on 22Feb17.
