Personal Statement
I've played many sports growing up, but I quickly knew that basketball was going to be my favorite. I have played since 1st grade for my local rec league, which was actually quite competitive. I've been pushed from day one, considering the fact that my dad was my coach and loves the game of basketball as much as I do. I started playing travel basketball in fourth grade for the Lady Shooters. Since then, I have been involved in my high school feeder teams (5th-6th grades), middle school teams (7th-8th grades), high school JV team (9th grade), high school varsity team, and travel/tournament teams from 6th grade until now. One of my favorite memories is winning my eighth grade county championship. I currently play for the 2020 Georgia Flames, where I am a point guard and shooting guard.
On the basketball court, I'm a dynamic player, and I make things happen. I am able to see the whole court and handle the ball very well. Dribbling out of tricky situations is my specialty. My strongest qualities are shooting, handling the ball, and my speed. Also looking for the open player is another one of my strongest abilities.
In addition to basketball, school and church are major priorities in my life. I make all A's, and I'm currently striving to keep my GPA as high as it can be while taking honors classes. I also love attending my weekly youth group, volunteering at my family's youth camp, skiing with my family, and going to church youth retreats. As I grow and mature in all aspects of my life, I would love to continue my basketball career in college and continue to be pushed to the highest level, on and off the court.
