Delaney Edwards '16 Recruiting Profile

~~I am Delaney Edwards. I have been playing basketball since I was six years old. When I first stepped on the court, I fell in love with basketball. I work hard each day to get better and to improve the level of my game. I know that playing in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I want to have.
I have a strong mid-range jumper and can step back and hit three’s. Also, I can be a threat inside and box out to get rebounds. I am very coachable and have a high basketball IQ. 
As a freshman I logged many varsity minutes. As a sophomore, I was a starting guard for the Lowndes Vikettes varsity team and averaged eight points per game. We won our region tournament and went on to play in the 6A Georgia State Final Four Tournament. This summer I have moved to Rabun County Georgia and will be playing for the Rabun County Wildcats during my junior and senior seasons.  
I have played AAU basketball for six years with the North Georgia Heat coached by Wayne Wheeler. During that time we have went to the National Tournament four years in a row placing sixth or better. Now we travel to exposure tournaments including the Battle of the Bayou in New Orleans, Battle of the Boro in Nashville,TN, and the Deep South Classic in Raleigh, NC.
In the classroom, I work hard to keep a 4.0 GPA. I am in the Beta Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Interact Club. In the past two years I have completed almost 100 community service hours. I also volunteer at my church with various activities.
My goal is to go to a college where I can pursue my dream of playing college basketball and graduate at the top of my class. I am open to all colleges and want to ultimately find the right college where I can be an asset to the program. I will graduate college with a four year degree in either the field of healthcare science or education.
