Personal Statement
Growing up as the youngest following two exemplary and hardworking older sisters who both competed in collegiate athletics, from my earliest years of participating in sports I have always thought it was predestined that I would play basketball in college. Though I initially resented the sport, I have come to really enjoy and foster a passion for allocating time and commitment in order to see personal growth and conquered tribulations in everything I do, especially in basketball but also more importantly from an academic perspective. Coming from a not particularly outstandingly intelligent or athletic background, my sisters and I have learned to utilize hard work as our main means of accomplishment with the hopes of outweighing our lack of talent. Reserving time for both long hours of studying and late-night basketball practices has taught me to have proficient time management, and this habit, along with my perseverance, is something that I plan to keep with me throughout college and beyond as I aspire to work in the medical or dentistry field, areas that require much academic strain but have wonderful payoff in the form of happiness seen in others. I believe that I am capable of anything I set my mind to, and through my own efforts and God's work, the threshold for achievement and improvement is unlimited.
P.S. fun facts about me are that I cannot ride a bike and enjoy baking healthy desserts!
