Personal Statement
Leading my team to its first winning season in over a decade as a freshman is one of the highlights of my high school career so far. However, I feel as if I grew the most as a student-athlete my sophomore year when our team was young and inexperienced. That experience forced me to take on the leadership role. It lead me to focus even more on improving my individual skills, making me better suited to improve my team and to play at the college level. That year I grew tremendously both as a player and as a person.
My first season as a high school athlete I learned the value of teamwork and commitment. My sophomore season I learned more of the importance of sacrifice and leadership. Having a young and inexperienced team, I was forced to step out of my comfort zone and lead the team in order to improve my teammates and have a successful season. I am not only dedicated to being the best athlete I can be, but also to being the best student I can be. My motivation to maintain my high academic standing in high school has developed great study habits that will help me succeed in the college classroom. I am looking for a program that fits me athletically and academically. In my two high school seasons, I have been a part of an older and more experienced team, as well as a very young and inexperienced one. From this I have learned how to overcome different challenges. I believe I have the ability, work ethic, and leadership skills to make an impact on your team!
