Personal Statement
I have been playing basketball since I was five years old. By the age of seven I was asked to play on a travel team with boys. Learning about the impact Pat Summitt had on women's and even men's basketball, along with being asked to play on an all boys team aspired me to play at the collegiate level. I work hard each and every day to improve my game. I work on my dribbling skills every day before every workout that I do, including at home in my house if the gym is not available. I work on footwork multiple times throughout the week which has improved my speed, ability to change directions quicker, and my defense. I have the ability to finish around the rim. I also have the ability to score off the dribble, off screens, and spot up shots from midrange and beyond the three point line. My passion for basketball allows me to see the game very well. My work ethic is extremely high. I dedicate all my time to school and basketball. When I'm not at the gym or in the weight room, I'm at home studying the game of basketball or doing school work. When I'm not satisfied with how well I do something, I work on it every day until it is no longer an issue for me. I love to be challenged because it forces me to work harder and become a better athlete. I listen well to what is asked of me. I have always pushed myself on the court, in the classroom, and in all other areas of my life. I believe hard work, determination, commitment, remaining humble, and a good education are the keys to success. I am looking for a college that can challenge me on the court as well as provide me a quality education.
