Personal Statement
Hi! My name is Camryn Stafford. I am a power forward and shooting guard from Illini Bluffs High School. Not only can I make a strong move to the basket, but the feeling after you make a 3 point shot is unforgettable. Basketball has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember and I have been involved with numerous camps and leagues so far in my athletic career.
I was a camp coach for Skills for Life Basketball Academy (Curley Boo Camp) where I was recommended by my school coach and previous camp coaches. Being involved in AAU summer leagues is what has shaped me into the player I am today. I started playing with the Heart of Illinois when I was in 5th grade, then moved to The Swish, then The Bombsquad, and my most recent team, Illinois Irish Elite.
Although basketball is important to me, I have also accelerated in school, having a 3.7 GPA and being on National Honor Society and Student Council.
In the off season, I have played volleyball, and ran cross country and track. This off season I am strictly focusing on basketball while keeping myself in shape at the gym lifting weights.
My Illinois Irish Elite basketball coach is a physical therapist who also owns his own gym. Getting to know him better and familiarizing myself with his profession has led me to the field of physical therapy. I would like to attend a university with a strong physical therapy curriculum.
