I have always wanted to play college basketball since I picked up a basketball for the first time. This would give me a lifetime opportunity and a aspired dream that comes true. I started playing on a basketball team in fourth grade. Basketball has helped me outgrow my shyness and has given me personal growth with strong bonded friendships for life. I have always been taller than most kids my age, which made me feel awkward. But when I am on the court playing basketball, I feel confident and strong. Basketball has not only given me positive values but also leadership skills. Every summer I help with a summer girl's basketball camp and love being a role model and teach basketball skills to the younger girls.
I am a hard worker and never give up at anything I do. I get that strong work ethics from my parents. I always arrive to practice early and stay late to continue working on my basketball skills. I am a team player and encourage my teammates to do their best. I help my coach lead practices and enjoy learning new plays. When I am not playing high school basketball or AAU basketball, you can find me at our local YMCA working out and playing basketball. Basketball has not only helped me be physically strong but also gives me a mental toughness. I consider myself a well rounded person because I am also a great student in the classroom.
I would love to attend a college that will help me earn a education degree and also play on a basketball team. I am opened to any opportunities and would feel honored to any options that would be given to me. I come from a small town and would feel proud to represent my community and give other peers the inspiration to always follow your dreams.
