Personal Statement
When I was three years old, I started what was called "bitty basketball." It was my first experience learning the basics of basketball, and I was hooked. From there, I went on to play at the YMCA, my local feeder program, and then progressed to travel. As a Freshman, I was able to play on the Varsity team and loved every second on the court. This year as a sophomore, I got the opportunity to be a starter on varsity and was able to reach the goals I set for myself this year. Since those days of "bitty ball," I have aspired to play at the collegiate level.
I have good ball-handling skills, I create plays that give others, and myself, the opportunity to score, I'm aggressive on defense, and have amazing court awareness. I strive to be a team leader and aim to make a positive difference for my teammates while motivating and uplifting them both on and off the court. I am a very coachable athlete who is hard-working, driven, and determined to continue to up my game. Off the court, I work hard in the classroom and keep a high GPA.
I would love to go to a college where I am able to challenge myself academically, as well as on the court. I am open to all possibilities and am excited to find the college that best matches my academics while competing at the highest level of competitiveness. Till then, I will strive to excel in the classroom and on the court while remaining a positive role model.
