Personal Statement

Basketball has been my passion ever since I can remember. I was able to exhibit that passion in May of 2014 when I was invited to the U17 USA National Team Trials at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. There, I competed along with 145 other girls from throughout the country. This was the greatest experience I have had, being given the opportunity to compete with the top talent in the country. But this was more than just a tryout, it was also a learning experience I will never forget. I learned the importance of teamwork, leadership, attitude, and health. I continue to incorporate what I have learned into my daily workouts so that it becomes a natural part of my game. I also incorporate these lessons in my life, as it helps me to become a better person.

Club Information

  • Seasons of Club Experience:
  • 4 seasons
  • 2015 Illinois Defenders (17U Elite, Starter)
  • Notes: I was a starter, key player, and a leader within the Illinois Defenders organization and my team specifically. I contributed at all positions on the floor and played more minutes than any other player. My versatility allowed me to play multiple positions each game which made me a more valuable player for my team.
  • Season Schedule
  • 2014 Illinois Defenders (AAU 16U Elite)
  • Notes: I play for the Illinois Defenders, an elite club team that is nationally ranked at #30 out of 464 teams in the nation. I am a starter and a key player to my team and I am occasionally pulled up to play with the 17U teams. Made the Music City Madness All Tournament Team, Nashville TN. Voted as one of the best basketball players of AAU by The Amateur Athletic Union of The United States. 2014 Edition of The Best Basketball Players of AAU.
  • Season Schedule
  • 2013 Chicago Lockdown (AAU 15U Elite)
  • Notes: I was a starter throughout the season and a key player for this team. Also, during the course of my season, I would often get pulled up to play for the 16U Elite team. This organization reinforced the basic fundamentals of basketball but also helped me to develop beyond the basics through hard practices and highly competitive tournaments.
  • 2012 Windy City Basketball Club (AAU 14U Elite)
  • Notes: I played for this organization from 5th grade through 8th grade. I was a starter every year and a key player who was asked to play every position from time to time. This organization really helped me develop the basic fundamentals of basketball, mentally as well as physically. I also was asked to play up with the girls older than me when needed. The coaching staff was unparalleled, specifically my head coach Tom Mangan who taught me much more than basketball. He taught me to be a better person.
