Personal Statement
Being born prematurely my parents were informed that it was a possibility that I could be hearing, vision, and speech impaired, despite what was being said I beat the odds. In 2007 I was diagnosed with ADD and instantly had a label put on me. I have been told that I couldn't / wouldn't succeed as a student athlete because of my learning disability. Despite being told I couldn't/wouldn't, I am proud to say that I am maintaining a 3.0 grade point average, I take all regular ed classes and have become a dominant threat on the basketball court. I am working to continue to get better and stronger by playing against the best where ever I play. My college goals are to be able to enter into any college/university with the necessary learning tools, such as study habits, work ethics, time management and communication skills. When I think about basketball I instantly think about my struggles in life as a student and how basketball allowed me to express myself through this form of art. I am sure that all the young ladies involved are all willing to show their fight regardless if they are first off the bench or the six man. I continue to bring an intense game, I play the guard, shooting guard, and the wing; in which I enjoy becoming a player that is versatile as well as a team player.
When you judge someone it does not define who they are if defines who you are.
