Ella Shipley '22 Recruiting Profile

I am an extremely driven individual in all aspects of my life.  I enjoy time with my friends, athletics and excelling in school. I've been fortunate that a lot of my close friends are also my teammates which makes socializing and playing sports a joint venture.  Athletics have been an exhilarating outlet for me since I've been young.  I love competing, but more importantly I love winning. I'm driven as far as my academics in hopes to be offered opportunities at the best colleges which will in turn increase my odds at professional success.  I give 110% at everything I do as I have been raised to believe there's no such thing as doing anything half-way.  I'm excited to see what my future holds both in school and down the road and am hopeful to create many memorable moments along the way.

My strength as a basketball player is my ability to compete. I play a fast paced, high intensity game encompassing moving the ball, leading the team in assists, driving the lane, and outside shots. I'm always looking for a rebound to regain possession or put the ball back up for a bucket.  One of my strongest attributes is my defense.  I believe in only counting my points after deducting what i gave up on defense when assessing my stats at the end of a game. I am continually assigned the best offensive opponent on the opposing team for my current varsity team (with only being a freshmen) because that's how serious I take both ends of the court. In addition, I have many weapons in my arsenal offensively as my first four years playing were in a post position. I have spent the last year transitioning to a guard with the help of both my coaches and my trainer with ball handling being my main focus.  I look forward to whatever challenge is thrown at me and attack it with utter and complete determination.
