Personal Statement
I have been a fighter and hard worker since day one of my life. I was born with a blood infection that took over my body. I spent the first month of my life fighting to survive with only a 50% chance to live. I fought through all those challenges at the beginning to become a dedicated and hardworking student-athlete.
I was a three-sport athlete in my freshman year and have entered my sophomore year with the same intentions. I play basketball, soccer, and tennis with basketball being my favorite. Sports have taught me; teamwork, time management, dedication, and goal setting to name a few life lessons. I am looking for a college that fits me academically and athletically.
I have been playing basketball since I have been nine years old. I have aspired to play at the collegiate level since I have stepped on the court. I have a great work ethic, great vision on the court, high basketball IQ and love to compete. I am a team leader and try to lead by example while encouraging my teammates. I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working players for any team I play with.
Off the court, I study hard and maintain a high GPA. I am also part of the Key Club and Student Council in which we volunteer in the local community. I have volunteered and worked with Youth MOVE Southeast, which is an organization led by youth with Mental Health challenges, to hold events and meetings.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself on and off the basketball court. I am open to all options and want to compete at the highest level possible. I want to contribute and give my all to a team.
