Personal Statement
Starting Varsity as a freshman was an honor. However, I was more excited to help my team go from one of the worst programs in Indiana to having one of the biggest turnarounds in the state! From the 2009-2018 season, Maconaquah girls basketball won a total of 17 games. We had one of the worst records in our conference and the state. People laughed when they talked about Maconaquah girls basketball. But people aren’t laughing anymore! I was able to help lead our team from one of the worst teams, to finish with 12 wins and as runner-up in our Sectional championship! Our girls basketball team hadn’t won a sectional game in 18 years. I was excited to help turn the team around and can not wait to see what we accomplish in upcoming seasons.
I feel very fortunate to play basketball for Maconaquah. I have learned to lead by example. I want to win and by leading my teammates, they now have a strong desire to win. I'm looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program. I am hard-working hog and grain farmer. I learned hard work in the field, the pig barn, through 4H, FFA and on the basketball court. As a three-sport athlete, I know that I have what it takes to be a leader on your team!
