2018 Highlights Personal Statement
"The road is a strict disciplinarian," my Great Uncle Norm would say often during our cross country cycling trips. When you cycle a hundred miles a day for a month, you learn a lot about the road... the road of life!
I've used this knowledge in all aspects of my life. Academically, I was elected into the National Honor Society and was one of four chosen to represent my school in a youth leadership program called NEXGEN that encourages kids to be leaders in their community! Athletically, I lead my schools basketball team as its starting point guard and Varsity team captain. I train relentlessly on and off the court with weight lifting and private coaching. Basketball is a huge part of my life and my passion!!
I've learned in life, like in cross country cycling, you have to keep pedaling to reach your destination.

- ActivitiesOne of my main extracurricular activities is cycling. For the past three years I have done cross country cycling trips with a group called DeCycles. My first trip started in Key West, Florida and we biked to Bloomington, IN. My second trip was Bloomington, Indiana to Nova Scotia, Canada. And my third trip was Seattle, Washington to Los Angelos , California. All the trips are about three weeks long, averaging 90-100 miles a day with trip total being app. 1600-2000 miles. In 2017 I was a group leader and awarded Veteran Rider of the Year.
