One of my goals is to attend college and graduate with a degree in criminal justice. I come from a family of police officers and am looking forward to studying more in depth the areas of my interest, which include law enforcement, law, and criminal psychology.
I've had a lot of opportunities to learn how to balance out my academic and athletic schedules along with working two jobs. It's been challenging, but the flexibility of homeschooling has been a big plus in this area.
I'm not afraid to work hard, to put in the extra time outside of practice. With playing on a highly competitive homeschool team, I have had the opportunity to play more games and gain more experience than I would have had if I'd played for our local public school. Within my first two years of high school, I have played close to the same number of games that I would have played in all four years in the public school's regular season.
My hard work over these years has helped me obtain one of the highest goals in homeschool basketball. At our Nationals in Springfield, Missouri this past season, I was named as a National Christian Homeschool Basketball Championship All-American - one of 18 girls nationally.
I think I'm a pretty coachable player. I'm always open for advice and suggestions on how to improve. I try to be a leader out on the court. Always go 100 percent, leave everything out there because you never know if this is going to be your last game. It's also important to have a good attitude and sportsmanlike behavior on and off the court. Not only am I am friends with my teammates, but I've gotten close to many of the girls on the teams we've played against over the years. This year I was actually invited by one of our biggest rival teams to play with them on their summer league down in Indianapolis.
