I am a very focused, ambitious and determined person. At the age of 16 I moved away from my family home, this move away meant growing up very quickly and taking on responsibilities I hadn't had previously. I have become independent from home comforts and have learned how to fit into different environments being a balanced and helpful individual. I moved to a basketball academy in Loughborough to develop as a player along side studying my A Levels. I currently study in Health and Social Care, which I am expected to achieve a distinction in. To achieve what I have to date has taken hard work, diligence and passion for the subject, I also study in Physical Education continuing on from my success at GCSE. I am still undecided what to major in, but I would like to go into the care profession, I am considering Nursing, Child Care or Physical Therapy.
I started playing basketball when I was 14 at high school, after only 2 weeks of playing I was selected for the U15 England Development Program. Since then I have been in the National Team Program, representing England at two European Championships. I have also had amazing experiences playing 3v3 a year under age for Great Britain at the Australian Youth Olympics in January 2013, additionally in September of 2013 I represented England at the 3v3 World Championships.
I have a very good work ethic and the desire to get better every day as a player on the court and also as a student off court. I am a good communicator on the court, and always bring positive energy. I am a team player and I care about player welfare on and off the court. My personal strengths are, I am an active rebounder at both ends of the floor, I seal well at the rim in transition and I have a wide skill set close to the rim. I have good hands and I'm currently working on my face up game, I can consistently make the 15/16ft jump shot, my target is to extend my consistent range to the 17/18ft shot.
I have the desire to come to America, as I know the basketball standards are higher and I will be challenged to achieve greater levels in my game by other athletes and coaches to ultimately achieve my greatest potential. Upon recruitment I will offer a 100% commitment to improve both physically and mentally and be an asset to any team I play for.
