Personal Statement
My name is Malak Ahmed Mohamed Aly Abdelmoaty, I’m 18 years old. I was born in Alexandria, Egypt. I’m in grade 12, I’m a French baccalaureate student in Lycée International Balzac, it’s my first and last year in this school. I have been in College de la Mere de Dieu d’Alexandrie since I was a kid and I left in grade 12 and went to a school in Cairo. I live alone in Cairo with my grandmother, away from my parents. I can speak Arabic, French, English and a little bit of Spanish. I started playing basketball when I was 4, it has been 14 years and I consider it as a part of my life, not just a game. I didn’t accomplish what I’ve always dreamed about here in Egypt and that’s why I want to come to US, it’s the best country for basketball. I’m a hard worker and I know what I want, I’ll never give up on my dreams. I got first place 5 times in Alexandria Championship and second place 1 time, and first place 3 times in the national championship and third place 1 time. My first dream job was to be a doctor and I hope I can make this happen. I want to study medicine because I adore Biology and Chemistry. The first thing I want to do when I start working is to help people who don't have money to heal. I want every week to help at least one person and when I start to earn money I want to travel to help people from all around the world, not only the country where I live. I want to make a difference in people lives by helping to alleviate pain and suffering. I want to share my experience with younger people when I graduate. I respect the doctors because I respect their profession so much. Being a doctor is the only profession that works anytime like during the pandemic of Covid the only people who worked were the doctors and all the people saw them as heroes because they contributed to healing people and they saved the world. I’m planning to work in a hospital in March 2023, after I finish my important exams so I can have experience of the major I want to work on.
