Personal Statement
When I found out going and playing college basketball was an option, especially coming from Australia, I have always dreamt of going.
I have represented my state and school at the School Sport Australia Basketball Championships and am currently playing Youth League Division 1 and Women's Championship Division for Casey Cavaliers.
Despite being disregarded in the past because of my height, I always play with heart and effort 100% of the time. I am known by my coaches for having great work ethic, communication skills, and coach-ability, but also my qualities of being a leader on and off the court. I am an explosive guard with a quick first-step to beat opponents off the dribble to the basket, whilst having a fundamentally sound outside shot, having the ability to play from the perimeter.
With my aspirations, I have always considered myself a student athlete, student coming first. I wish to not waste the opportunity as I feel it would be unfair to my family who invested in me because they believed in me, and I want to make them proud. I want to attend a college where I can fulfill my dream, and be in a college/team that is like a family as it is a home away from home.
