Personal Statement
Basketball has always been a big part of my life. I started playing in 2nd grade and I want to continue playing after high school. Basketball has brought out a different side of me. When I am playing, I'm locked in and not worrying about anything else. I go hard, I am strong physically and mentally, a good team leader, and dedicated. I will do anything for my team to win a game. It can consist of diving for balls, running from one side of the court to the other or being put on the line to make a free throw. I also love contact and I'm not afraid of driving into someone. My sophomore year I hurt my elbow and I finished the season with the injury. I later had surgery, and I think that made me realize even more that I want to play college ball. When I couldn't shoot with my right hand because of surgery, I was shooting with my left and making it better. Once I got cleared to shoot with my right I wanted to shoot all the time. With my injury it has showed me that you have to work for everything you want to accomplish and it won't be easy. You will have tough days, and you just have to pick everything up and keep going.
A great accomplishment my team had my Sophomore year was being Conference Champs (20-0 record). I also am a good student and take school very seriously. I always am wanting to do my best and get the best grade I can get. Doing well in school and sports is a big thing for me and drives me to do better. I play sports year around, and I think that helps a ton in my athletics. I also am a caring person and always looking to have everyone's back. I think all my characteristics makes me a good candidate for your team!
