Personal Statement
My name is Maddy (Mad Dog) and my passion for the sport began about 8 years ago. Every year since then has contributed to my willingness to compete and drive to be an effective forward thinking player.
I credit basketball for teaching me leadership, teamwork, and communication. On the court, these skills are constant and required for keeping the game quick, sharp and full of momentum.
I feel confident when I bring the ball up the court because I know my teammates trust me, share my knowledge of game, and we work well together as a team. I currently play varsity as a sophomore at Martensdale St. Mary’s, but my career goes beyond just school participation as I led 2 other AAU teams as a point guard in earlier years.
I attribute some of my successes on the court to the performance training I do, camps I have attended, and in the ways I push myself outside of my regular practices.
Not only do I work hard on and off the court, but I have spent time on the softball field and track. I maintain a strong academic profile which in turn allows me to keep focus during a game.
I continue to thrive on the court and I look forward to playing basketball at the next level.
