I started playing basketball when I was in 6th grade, but I had a love for the sport when I was around 6. I started dribbling a basketball and shot on a little goal and I instantly got addicted. When I was a freshman, I got the opportunity to go all the way to the semi-finals with my teammates for the 3rd time in our school history. Over the last 3 years, I have learned a lot about teamwork and working together. I've also learned how to be a leader and what it takes to be a leader is that you must follow first. I'm not a really socialable person but I have developed social skills and it helped me throughout my high school years of basketball. Even though basketball doesn't really run through my family history, my dad has a big part in my life and has helped me get better and stronger for basketball. I believe that it takes hard work and dedication to get what you want and if you don't put in the work, you don't get the results you are looking for. I think it is extremely important to me that I do good academically in school because not only does it help me for my future, it allows me to play the sport that I love. I know that I have more work to do to get better, because if I get better at one thing, there are plenty of more things that I can work on. Most of my time is dedicated to basketball, but on my off time I like to spend time with my family and friends. Since I play multiple sports I like to improve my game on other sports and improve my social, communication, and leadership skills.
