Going to the state semifinals in my junior year has been the highlight of my basketball career. This was the first time in our school's history that our girl's basketball team advanced beyond the second round and to the state semifinals. I am very proud to say that I have led my team all season and have stepped up even more so in the playoffs by being the leading scorer of all 3 playoff games averaging 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 assists. This past season has pushed me to become a better basketball player, person, teammate, a harder worker and taught me the true meaning of what leadership is truly about. I've learned that basketball or any sport really, takes heart, effort, teamwork, sacrifice, leadership, and commitment which I am sure is exemplified at the collegiate level. Academically, I have maintained a 4.0 GPA since my freshman year and plan to major in forensics and one day become a forensic pathologist. I'm looking for a program that would be a great fit for me academically as well as athletically; a school that will push me beyond my above and beyond to reach my goals. Not only do I believe that I can compete on the college level, but have the character, mindset, and work ethic to be a great asset to the team and make an immediate impact in any program. Playing basketball at the collegiate level will be a dream come true and it's my goal to bring the same leadership, work ethic and academics commitment to excellence to whatever university I attend.
