My goal is to play basketball in college and to major in math or science. I am someone that strives for academic success, and success on the court. I am never happy with anything less than my best, and I give it everything I have in practices and games. I know the value of putting in time in the off season, and I work out on my own. I am a three-sport athlete and I believe this has helped me be a better basketball player. Every practice and competition, no matter what sport, gives me more practice handling the pressure, defending a drive, and reading the defense to create an offensive opportunity.
I tore my ACL on July 27, 2021 in the final high school summer league basketball game. I had ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair surgery on September 1, 2021. That certainly was not what I wanted for my junior year of high school. I was not able to play soccer or basketball. This is why my highlight videos are me from freshman and sophomore years. Despite not being able to play in games I attended every soccer and basketball practice and game and cheered on my teammates. For my dedication and enthusiasm, I was awarded the 2021 varsity soccer coaches' award. This experience made me even more determined to get back on the court and field. I attended physical therapy 2-3 times each week and I hit the weight room whenever I could. I am hoping coaches will see my potential even though I missed out on a pivotal season on the court. I was cleared fully for softball on April 21, 2022. I had a very successful softball season and continued to go to physical therapy and work on strength and conditioning. I was finally cleared fully for basketball and soccer June 21, 2022 and was able to play four weeks of our high school summer basketball schedule. It felt amazing to be back on the court and I feel like I am as strong or stronger than I was pre-injury. I hope you will consider me for your program.
