Personal Statement
My name is Mackenzie Emery and I have been playing basketball for 13 years and softball for 10 years. Sports have taught me; time management, goal setting, teamwork, & and the meaning of commitment. I am looking for a college that best fits me academically and athletically. At a very young age I set a goal for myself to play division 1 college basketball. I am working on my game year round to meet my goal. Basketball has always been my favorite sport and I have loved it ever since I first stepped on the court. My goal to play at the college level is something I take seriously. I am a junior at Bonny Eagle High School and am the starting point guard on the varsity basketball team. I have been the varsity starting point guard since my freshman year
My grades have always and continue to be good. I like school and I always put my school work before basketball or other activities. During my years in middle school I achieved either highest honors or high honors. At the conclusion of my eighth grade year I received the scholar athlete award. This award is achieved by playing 3 sports and achieving excpeptional grades. During the fall of my eighth grade year I was selected to represent the my class at the annual student athlete leadership confence. My goal for high school and college academically is to make sure my GPA is good and keep up with all my school work and to achieve my goal to become a college basketball player.
