My name is Vondalyn (Vonnie) Lidie and I hope to be able to pursue my academic and athletic dreams by playing baksetball in college.
I have been playing basketball since the age of 5. My father signed me up and I couldn’t stop after my first practice. It has and will continue to be my passion in life.
In 2012, my father passed away from cancer when I was 10 years old. I often think of how he would react knowing that my passion has led me to pursuing a college degree.
I have been living with my sister and her husband since his passing and they are helping me in my pursuit of a college basketball career. During this time, I have maintained a high GPA (4.22) and kept my academics a priority.
I was fortunate to find a great high school to play basketball. I made varsity as a freshman and was able to get many minutes on the floor alongside some very talented upperclassman. I have played on the Varsity team the past three seasons and look forward to my final season this winter.
