I began my basketball journey at the age of 10 years old in my hometown in Indiana. I was first exposed to basketball at a basketball clinic and to my surprise I liked basketball. A coach from the community was there observing and invited me to participate in learning more about basketball in structured environment. I was intimidated at first because I was new and my skill level was not as advanced as the other girls. However, I continued to practice and in due time I was able to improve my skill level to play more competitively. As I have matured I aspire to play at the collegiate level. I know that playing in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity that could change my whole life.
I have strong physical defense, strong post moves, a positive mindset, and try to lead by example while also encouraging my teammates. I am very coachable and assist my coach with leading practices and coaching other teammates to success. In the past few years I played on AAU Teams. I have been able to grow my skills, basketball IQ, and, physical strength. I plan to continue to play on AAU teams for the most exposure.
In the classroom, I have a full understanding that if my grades are not present then sports can not exist. I work hard to ensure I maintain a high GPA.
I want to attend a college that gives me well rounded academic exposure that offers a degree that support my professional goals while challenging me on and off the basketball court. My ideal college would be diverse with great academics, academic resources availability, and a basketball team that I can learn from and also add value to. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great student and basketball player.
