Hello my name is Erika Clarke and I am a senior at Bohemia Manor High School where I have played varsity basketball for the last three years. As a student-athlete, I fully understand that it is important to excel not only in athletics but also in academics. In the past three yeara of high school, I have managed to succeed in three varsity sports while maintaining a 3.84 gpa. Academics come first when I look for colleges because I want to be able to graduate with many opportunities.
I have played basketball since I was 5 years old and I have grown up in the gym. My older sister was always pushing me to be better. She really helped me get to where I am today as a person and a player. Due to the pandemic, my sophomore season was cancelled but that didn’t stop me from getting a ball in my hands. I broke down my game and focused on my craft for months. I have a very strong work ethic which has helped me achieve my goals time and time again. I am very coachable, I am always ready to work and being a great attitude to practice. The one thing I love about basketball is that there is no limit to how good you can be, you can improve in any aspect of the game and that pushes me to be better everyday in the sport. Basketball has been such an important part of my life for so long and it has brought me to some amazing coaches and players and I can’t wait to further my basketball career at am amazing college program.
