Ashlyn McInerney '18 Recruiting Profile

I've played basketball since I was 7. I tried other sports, nothing really came as naturally as basketball did. I fell in love with the game right away. I started by playing with the local community teams. A couple of AAU coaches wanted me to join their team, but unfortunately my parents could not commit to it financially at that time. I would constantly practice to improve, if I wasn't playing in a game or at practice with my team then I was at a local park playing against the neighborhood guys. I was a starter on JV my freshmen year and my sophomore year. I was captain of JV and I got moved up to Varsity towards the end of my sophomore season. We went to 2nd round playoffs. I scored 238 points with a career high 36 points. I've played with an AAU team the last two spring/summer seasons.

My future goal is to play in college and always be involved with the sport through out my life. I am a hard worker. I practice and condition every single day. I am focused and work hard academically. If I'm not playing ball I'm studying. Basketball is my passion, I will continue to give 100% in every way possible to reach my goal! I know it's not possible to win every game, but I will play the best and give everything I can every game! I'm determined, motivated, and passionate for the game and life! I have a very supportive family, that is behind me and encourages me non-stop.
