Personal Statement

My mission has been completed. I have grown so much in the past 18-months that it is amazing.  The mission was the best thing I have done to this point in my life.  Losing oneself in serving others in need truly focuses our mind and helps to clarify what is important in your life.

I am now ready to focus my efforts on the rest of my life and right now that is to get in shape and visit several schools that have asked me to spring practice. I have moved to Utah and will be attending practices at several schools here and in Southern California where my parents now live.  I am overwhelmed by the list of school that have viewed my profile as I did not see this until I returned in early February.  I would like to thank all those who have viewed my profile and have been following me, I am very humbled by that.  I will post updates here as I progress on my post mission phase of life.

My father posted highlights of my 2013 Carroll County All-star Game on Youtube and you can find it by  searching “Charlee Vanderniet 2013 all star.” I will try to post video of my playing as I get the opportunity.  I have posted my new phone number and email address on my webpage, please use these to contact me in the future.

Charlee's Story

Basketball is more than just a game for me, it is my life. Everything I do is for or a result of basketball. Growing up, I moved around a lot. The one thing that I could always depended on being the same in every town was a basketball court. No matter where I go, there is always a three point arch, a free throw line, and a hoop. I played on recreational basketball teams from 2nd. to 4th. grade, and have been playing AAU ever since. I always work my hardest at every practice and I try to set an example for the other players. I work hard to try to improve in some way at every practice. My coaches often tell me that I am very coachable; when they tell me to change something or try something new I listen carefully and work to put it into action. I have confidence in my coaches and I trust them. My coaches have always told me that I have great potential and I believe they are sincere and know what they are talking about. They have told me that I have a very soft shot; in fact, my Junior Varsity coach said that my shot is the softest shot he has ever seen for a big person like me. (I am six feet two inches tall). I don’t see myself as the most amazing or awesome player that has ever been on his team, but I consider myself a player who loves to play and gives it all she’s got. I enjoy being on a team of girls that work together well, who know each other's move, can read each other and play off each other - a team that plays so well together there is no one single player who is overly exceptional. In spite of how much I love basketball, my education is even more important, the most important thing to me. My intention is to be a well-educated woman someday who will have a positive impact of our society. Playing basketball and attending a good school have been my dream ever since I could shoot a jump shot, and I will not allow myself to compromise either of those two things. I will continue to work hard and do everything in my power to get where I want to be. Thank you for your interest; I very much hope to talk with you soon.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
