Personal Statement
As an athlete, I take my training very seriously and work hard in game and at practice. I play basketball 11 months out of the year but I also love being a starting player on our varsity volleyball team.
Whether on the court or on the bench I always communicate. After showcases or tournaments I have attended, more than one coach has told me that they can hear me across the gym. I am extremely aggressive on defense and I'm a strong team leader.
We've been using a Read and React Offense with my AAU team. I love the freedom it gives us to play all over the court, and use our best instincts to work as a team. Although my high school basketball team is not as competitive as AAU, I've had the opportunity to play four different positions each year. I am always trying to improve, and I love the challenge of being pushed to my fullest potential and learning new ways to use my skills. That is what I hope to get from a college basketball team.
As passionate as I am about basketball, my academics are still a high priority. I hope to study in a major that will allow me to work with sport and children, or students, such as Athletic Training, Sport Management or Education. I ultimately would like to coach in some capacity.
