My name is Jordan Tucker. Thank you for taking the time to examine my profile. It’s my goal to become an outstanding student athlete for the remainder of high school and throughout college. I have a true passion for athletics. I have been playing organized basketball since I was three years old and I’ve competed in multiple cheer events in the past but have realized that my heart is devoted to basketball. My middle school coach awarded my hard work and effort on the court with back to back Coach’s Award (MVP). I also expanded my skills and knowledge in basketball by joining a local AAU team called Basketball 2 the Limit located in Newton. I have been selected to the Elite travel team within the B2L gym as a freshman which is predominately sophomore and up. I focus on becoming an all-around player but I take pride in my defensive skills. As an eighth grader, I was asked to play up for both the junior varsity and varsity teams at our high school while playing on the middle school team. My varsity coach implemented the box and one defense along with the triangle and two based on my defensive prowess to guard the opposing team’s best player on multiple occasions during the 2016-17 season. I take constructive criticism well and have been told that I’m “coachable”. I’ve been very fortunate to have some amazing coaches, mentors and peers that have seen my abilities and continue to push me to better myself in every aspect of life. I’m a genuine hard worker whose dedication in and out of the classroom is immeasurable. As my high school and AAU career continues I plan to grow not only as an athlete but also as a student. I’ve always considered every team that I’ve been affiliated with as an extension of my family and I strive to form bonds with everyone. I believe I can benefit from a college that provides both challenging academics and a competitive basketball program which is why I’m open to exploring all options on all collegiate levels. Thank you again for reading and for any interest you may have in me.
