Personal Statement
Hello Coaches
My name is Brianna James, I am an athletic, high IQ combo guard that plays both sides of the ball, I am typically the main defender on my teams, I love playing defense and take pride in forcing guards off the middle of the court and disrupting the other team's offense. I am leaving King Philip HS to reclass as a junior and play at St. Mark's School in Southboro, MA. The school will be challenging academically and athletically, I am looking very forward to the change.
I am a 3.2 GPA student, looking to pull it up to near 4.0 to close out my high school years. I will be majoring in Pre-Pharmacy or Biology wherever I go. I seek the combination of a great education and competition. I am excited about the possibility of playing in college.
As far as basketball, I can score at all three levels, I have a range that extends beyond the FIBA three-point line, I can shoot the midrange as well as attack the basket and finish with either hand at different angles. For the 2019-2020 season I was third on my team in scoring and first in assists, and second in steals. I was Honorable Mention All-Star in the Hockomock Conference as well as an Honorable Mention All-Star by the newspaper the Sun Chronicle for the second year in a row. During my three years playing varsity, for two of them I played in a 5 out offense, this past year we ran the Dribble Drive offense.
I am honest and have high integrity, I play as hard as I can every possession and make my teammates better. I have played for the Mass Mavericks AAU for the last three years, we compete nationally in Atlantic City, Nike Chicago, USJN Washington DC. You will find footage of my AAU and HS games in my profile, there are highlights as well as a full game so you can get a better sense of my abilities.
Thank You
Brianna
