Personal Statement

It has always been my dream to play collegiate basketball, and I would love the opportunity to fulfill that dream, along with attaining a great education in the process. My passion for basketball began at such a young age that I can't even remember my life without it. As I've grown as a person and player, that passion has continued to grow.

I am primarily a PG. I play shooting guard as well, but I pride myself on not only being able to play each position, but also defend a player at any position. My relentless effort and high basketball I.Q. allow me to read the other team in order to cause turnovers, which lead to easy fast-break points for my team. My long arms and jumping ability create the opportunity for me to snatch rebounds over much taller players and get the ball out quickly to generate more fast-break potential.

Offensively, I use my ball handling and quickness to drive past my defender, draw multiple defenders, and either pass to the open player or finish at the basket. I can knock down a three pointer or pull up for a mid-range jumper. My court vision, sense, and belief that basketball functions at the highest level and is more beautiful when played as a team almost forces me to find the open girl and create scoring opportunities for my teammates. I am always looking for ways to improve my game as well as help my teammates become better in the process. As a Point Guard, I feel it is an extreme priority to involve all of my teammates and encourage them each step of the way.

My longing for challenges carries on from the court to the classroom, as I attend a separate school for Math & Science. This school challenges its students to the peak of our abilities and gives us the best education to help facilitate growth of our intelligence in order for us to prosper after High School. Currently, the 3.9 Grade Point Average that I hold has come with lots of hard work that will prepare me for the more challenging college courses. My future education is a huge factor in the school I choose, and therefore a top priority.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
