Personal Statement
I am a multi-sport athlete and am constantly in the gym and the weight room, or on the track and the softball field. I work hard to perform my best in whatever I do, but basketball has always been my truest passion. I have strived to play college ball ever since I started playing travel ball, and in my high school years that passion has only grown. I did not start out as a basketball player; I started as an athlete. I grew to be a basketball player because of my desire to be coached and how much I was willing to learn, knowing that I needed help to become the best I can be. And I still need that coaching to keep growing as a player and a person.
Besides the sports I play, I am an active volunteer at my church. I am a group leader for our middle school ministry, helping seventh grade girls learn how to navigate middle school and leading them through their struggles. They have been a weekly part of my life, and I love leading them and learning from them. Academically, I work hard to gain knowledge. I maintain a 3.83 gpa while taking honors and AP classes that are graded on the 4-point scale. I take these classes to better prepare for college courses and challenge myself in high school.
In college, I am unsure of what I want to major in. I do know that I want to lead and I want to learn all that I can to find a career where I can help others. I have thought about teaching and criminal justice, but I am waiting to see what path is best for me.
