Hello, my name is Michele Remer. I am a senior at Sacred Heart High School. My favorite position to play on the court is shooting guard, but I can play any position and will go anywhere my coach wants me to go. I would really enjoy being able to play college basketball. I am grateful to all the people who helped me to get this chance: the women who fought for Title IX, my family, and my coaches. I take pride in working hard in basketball, school, and my faith.
Last year, I scored my 1,000th point and tied a Minnesota state record when I made 7 out of 7 three point shots in a game. I also averaged over ten rebounds a game, which I am more proud of than my 18 points per game scoring average. I was a captain on my team, which was a position that I took very seriously. Our team was 17-8 last year, and I took each of those losses personally as captain and leader of the team. At the end of the year, I was named the Defensive Player of the Year for our conference. I also was named the Female Athlete of the Year for my school as a junior. I also play softball and volleyball at Sacred Heart.
Academics are definitely a big part of my life. I have a 4.0 GPA and am at the top of my class. In high school, my lowest grade has been an A-. I have taken Composition I and Composition II at my local technical college and am taking Pre-Calculus this year. As of right now, my major is undecided, but I am hoping to make a decision this year.
My Catholic faith in Jesus Christ is what ties my family, basketball, and academics together. I hope to spread my faith to others around me.
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13)
