I aspire to play college basketball. My focus right now is to improve every part of my game.
My biggest challenge right now is that I'm being face guarded and double teamed at most games. I'm working hard to get open, create space and find every way possible to contribute. Already, I have noticed my rebounding has increased.
I’m proud to be a good student and athlete. Challenging classes like math and science, teachers, friends, clubs are exciting and fun for me. Many lessons that I learned in basketball apply to school….perfectionism can be negative, hard work pays off and there are always doubters…I have to be myself.
Even though I am very competitive, I aspire to help others. I want to have a career in medicine and right now I am thinking about pediatric nursing and eventually being a nurse practitioner.
I contribute to my team because I’m smart about the game and like understanding the details of the game. I am extremely loyal and very driven. I am not afraid to talk and lead. I can get along with just about anybody. My toughest thing to fight is my own perfectionism and remembering to have fun with the game. I’m working on finding that balance.
This is my personal statement today. However, I’m a work in progress...
