Personal Statement
Although I reside in a town with the smallest classification in Montana, I am product of hard work. Basketball is something I strive to excel at during the off season and in the early mornings while everyone is sleeping. Three days out of the week I wake up to complete early morning training to start my school day and that hard work carries into the classroom. I hold the highest GPA of 42 other students in my class at Box Elder High School. My name is Joelnell Momberg and I am originally from Browning, Montana but call Box Elder my home. My experience as a small forward as a freshman has assisted me in becoming a successful point guard for a #2 rank team in the state.
The work in the off season is a reflection of my academics motivation that challenges me in achieving my goals. Unlike other students attending my small town school, I attended four other schools making the best of every situation by obtaining superior standings both athletically and academically. Since the fourth grade I have called Box Elder my home and I am proud to be a Lady Bear. My love of basketball started at a very young age making me the person I am today.
Playing basketball is the sport I love, but academics are my main priority. My short term goal is to graduate as the valedictorian four years from now. On or off the court I strive to be a better student athlete with my dedication to work hard, remaining focused, and my resilience to overcome obstacles. My biggest desire is to one day have the opportunity to play college basketball.
