Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Sylvie Schoenen. Three years ago as a freshman in high school, I picked up my first tennis racquet and have not wanted to put it down since. With my dedication, my athleticism built upon by other sports, and with the help of my knowledgeable coaches, I have been able to exceed the expectations of a relatively inexperienced tennis player. By my second year of tennis, I earned All Conference honors taking 3rd place in doubles. During my third year of tennis, my doubles partner and I were Montana Central A Conference Champions and took 5th place at State, thus earning All State honors.
Throughout my years of sports, I have learned that the human body is far stronger than the limitations your mind puts on it. This lesson has allowed me to push through not only physical, but mental challenges, along with instilling grit and hard work inside of me. These two qualities, along with integrity, commitment, and positivity have helped me to become a strong leader on my varsity team. I am looking for a tennis program that values these qualities in athletes along with strong academics. My goal in life is to help others by working in the medical field, so I want the best education to get me there. I have a strong presence in my school not only on the court, but in the classroom as well, and I believe I could do the same for your program.
