Personal Statement
When I was five, I was adopted. My siblings and I were taken from our birth parents because our home situation was not a healthy one for us. We were all sent to different families which was hard for all of us. That was one of the darkest and hardest times of my life.
When I was at this low point in my life, I was able to find the light. God was there, and I was able to find relief in Him, but also in basketball. My parents introduced me to basketball, and I instantly fell in love. As I started to play more and spend more of my time in the gym, I realized this was what I wanted to do with my life. I felt like this was God’s plan for my life. Basketball has always been something I could turn to, whether I had a bad day or I just needed some time to think. I feel complete when I have a basketball in my hand.
My goal in life is to spread God’s word and my story through my game. I want to help people see that we can still accomplish big goals, even if we had a rough beginning to our lives.
I am still deciding what my major will be, but academically, I am more interested in math and science, so I will earn my major in one of those areas.
