Amanda Jonas '20 Recruiting Profile

My future goal is to be accepted into a college which will allow me to further pursue my athletic and academic careers. I aim to challenge myself each and everyday because I believe by making mistakes it pushes me to work harder and do better in all aspects of my life. I believe I am a good candidate for your team because I am a hard worker and am not afraid to push myself, I am a team player always willing to support my teammates, and a good communicator on and off  the court. I believe in the synergy of a team versus an individual because being on a team provides me with a support system. A team is always there for you, pushing you to do better and be a better person and player, which is one of the reasons I fell in love with this sport. I consider myself a hard worker and determined as once I put my mind to something I will not stop until I reach my goal. I do not quit when when things get difficult, I face the challenges that come my way head on.  I always try to keep a positive attitude no matter what because keeping a positive mindset helps me to do better and contributes to the team’s overall mindset as well. I have been involved in sports for as long as I can remember. I love playing the game of basketball and being part of a team because this sport has given me so many opportunities I would never have imagined I’d be able to experience, and has given me lifelong friends and relationships in my teammates. Basketball has taught me the value of teamwork and cooperation, and has proven to me that hard work really does pay off. It truly has shaped me into the person I am today. I look forward to playing at the college level and hope I will get the opportunity to show you all that I can offer you and your team.
