Personal Statement
My name is Maddie Bideaux. I have been passionate about basketball for 15 years right now. Throughout those years, I have built a character in basketball showing leadership, but also incredible coachability. I believe that working on myself off the court holds great power in how well I perform on the court whether that takes place in practices and/or games. I work on myself by: working out to gain strength and prevent sport-related injuries, getting schoolwork done to make sure I have as much time as possible to dedicate to basketball, and keeping my mentality clear of negativity so that I decrease chances of getting in my head when playing. To go more into depth about my education, I am currently holding a 4.2/5 GPA as a Senior in Freehold High School. I am a member of the National Honor Society, and Equity Dialogue Team Program. Going into college, I have increasing interests in Landscape Architecture, Interior Design + Architecture, Environmental Design, Agricultural + Architectural Design, Botany, Zoology, Nutrition, Exercise Science and lastly, Geology. I would like to attend a 4-year institution as well. As a player of basketball, besides the amount of time I have been playing, I believe my strongest asset is how much more work I am putting into my overall skill each day, I am increasing how hard I work as days pass by. I also believe strongly that meshing well with my team on and especially off the court is one of the key strong-points to winning not only games, but championships of all sorts. It is my ultimate goal to create a path for myself in this sport and have that take me to places of immense joy and success, and I am looking for the college that will support me along that path.
