“The more you love your decisions, the less you need others to love them.” This is a quote I apply to my life on the daily basis, and essentially live by. I come from an urban area, where it can be challenging to make positive decisions for your life, because others around you are not doing the same. Although I may question decisions I make because it is easy to compare them to the negative lifestyle choices of others around me, I still remain confident and stand strong with any plan I finalize and decide to pursue. Overall, in my high school career I have developed a mindset in which I know anything I put my mind to, will be accomplished. I have essentially become an extremely hardworking and focused person, that constantly stays on task.
When I think of pursuing my dream as a graphic designer, I first think of what it is that a graphic designer does. Although graphic designers generally create various visual concepts that serve in different forms, such as applications, advertisements, brochures, and magazines, the love and passion I have for creating different works of art is what entices me the most. When I received my first sketch book in middle school, I feel like my life changed in so many ways. Just sketching my name in a creative format, allowed me to look deeper than the actual work itself. I eventually begin to have an interest in animation because a close family member was fond of Mickey Mouse. I soon went from creating cartoons for her pleasure, to developing album covers for my favorite artist.
I know I will be successful in your school, because of my desire to succeed and also my dedication to the pursuit of being a successful graphic designer. I have repeatedly shown my determination by conquering all challenges faced with being raised in an urban area. Furthermore, I have developed strong social and teamwork skills, which have been enhanced by my community involvement. I do not believe in quitting, and my overall goal is to keep pushing, until I make a change not only within myself, but also in my community overall. This will help everyone around me have a more successful life, and together as a team our future will brighten. Please accept this as a my official request to be considered as a student in your school, and allotted with the opportunity to expand on my passion for the field of graphic design.
