Personal Statement
My name is Kylie Jae Sheridan. I am going into my Senior year (class of 2024) at Academy for Allied Health Sciences in Scotch Plains, New Jersey. However, I reside in Kenilworth, New Jersey where I play my high school sports, basketball and soccer. I started playing basketball in the 3rd grade on a recreational level. Then in the 8th grade went on to play AAU, joining the NJ Raptors.
Academically in college I look to continue on my path of Health Sciences, with some of my interests including going into Pre-Physical Therapy, Physicians Assistant, Sports Medicine, etc.
As for sports, I look to bring a positive impact to any team I am on. I am a very coachable athlete and a great team leader. I also enjoy being a mentor to the younger players on my team and offer any help I can to whoever needs it. With my love and knowledge for the game I have volunteered the past three years coaching 3rd-5th grade girls rec basketball teaching the fundamentals!
During my Junior basketball season, five games in I tore my ACL, lateral and medial meniscus. This required reconstructive surgery on February 1st and was honestly very disappointing, since I held such high standards for myself, especially for how much work I put in prior to this season. However, I kept in mind that I am lucky that I will be cleared in time for my senior year to show the skills I have. I have continued to work incredibly hard and cannot wait to be back to the sport that I love the most!
