For as long as I can remember, my dream has been to play basketball in college. I feel like I was learning to dribble a basketball as early as I was learning to walk.
While I love playing many sports including volleyball and soccer, I just feel like I am in my most competitive element when I am on a basketball court. I simply love the game. I play basketball year round. When I am not practicing with the school team or my travel team, I am outside on our basketball court, or at the local gym where I get one on one training with some post coaches. It is my desire to practice all that I can, to be the best that I can be. I do not ever want to feel bad about a game when I know that I have given it my all. And, if I feel that I did something wrong, after the game I am determined to fix the error so that it does not happen again.
I feel that I am a team player, always supporting everyone on my team, on and off the court. I am someone that has to work hard at everything that I do, but that makes the reward so much better. I feel pride when I have a good game that I know I practiced for. I am proud of myself when I get a good grade that I know I studied so hard for. I am proud of myself when I can help someone else achieve their goals or simply feel better about themselves.
I was pretty sick in my freshman year, and struggled through my sophomore year. I was proud of myself for receiving MVP of the varsity team in my sophomore year. I like to work hard. I like to strive to be the best I can be. I take a lot of pride in my leadership abilities both verbally and by example. Playing on a competitive team in college is my dream, and I know that I can be an asset to any team that I am fortunate enough to play with.
