Personal Statement
Hello! My name is Emma Rose. I have been through many ups and downs during my seven years of playing basketball, a journey that has taken me from CYO to travel to AAU to high school. The journey has not been easy. I have overcome a broken wrist (out three months), a sprained wrist (out three weeks), and a concussion (out six weeks), but I have always come back stronger. I have had people doubt my abilities, but I continue to work harder and persevere to achieve my goals.
When I was younger, I was a full-time goalie on a competitive travel soccer team, along with playing competitive club lacrosse and softball. I made my high school's varsity volleyball team as a freshman. But basketball has always been my true love. I am an only child, which, I believe, makes me love basketball more because I am around my amazing teammates, who are like sisters to me.
Basketball helps me academically because it keeps me focused on school. Whenever I am in season, I am more responsible, managing my time better. I put a lot of effort into my school work.
I will bring a lot to a program. I love to work hard and compete. I am a great teammate. I want to learn. I want to be part of a special culture. I am very coachable. My dream is to attend a college that offers great academics and a strong basketball program.
