My collegiate goal is to attend a reputable post-secondary institution (hopefully having earned an academic scholarship) & hopefully be offered an athletic scholarship for basketball or soccer to a reputable Div I of Div. II school. My hope is to have as positive an impact on my college team as I have on my high school team. So far, I have scored my 861 points spanning 3 Varsity seasons from anywhere & everywhere on the court whether inside or outside the paint, from the foul line or from behind the 3-pt. line, though I am best known for my defensive ability & tenacity. (I would have scored about 80 more points but I was sidelined for the last 4 games of the regular season due to a low ankle sprain. I returned to active status for our first Section 3 game against Frankfort-Schuyler. They defeated us 85-65 & ended our season but I lead all scorers that game w/ 32 points.) On defense, players from opposing teams have given me the nickname "burdock". I am the most self-motivated student-athlete I know. I am very competitive & hate to lose. I am coachable & a team leader who motivates my teammates as well as my classmates. I lead by example on & off the court. I am willing to sacrifice my body on the court or field for the good of my team. I can learn new offensive & defensive strategies quickly. My g.p.a. is likely higher than most student-athletes as well as my study habits likely being more disciplined. I currently average 21.3 ppg during my Junior season & though we do not have a team statistician, our book keeper only records ppg, 3-ppg & fts. As a result, my family has recorded the following other stats during each game this season: 11.3 reebs, 4.4 asts, 5 blks, 3.4 stls, 79.5% ft. Also, the Syracuse Post-Standard Newspaper (by Sports Writer Pat Spadafore, [email protected]) printed a feature article on me in its December 21, 2014 edition.
